Itinerary
Day 1 – Surreal Shores
Arrive at Socotra Airport and settle into a traditional house. Meet our team for a quick briefing before venturing along the northern coast towards the eastern tip. Witness Socotra’s unique landscapes, passing through charming villages and pristine beaches dotted with remarkable flora. Reach Arher, where colossal 200-meter sand dunes dramatically meet sheer cliffs. Discover a freshwater stream flowing from a cave to the beach – a truly stunning sight. Relax on the shore, enjoy the scenery, or climb the dunes for panoramic views. Dinner and overnight camping at Arher Beach.
Day 2 Plateau & Ancient Trees:
Journey from the coast up to the Diksam Plateau, the heartland of the iconic Dragon’s Blood trees. Visit remote Bedouin settlements perched at the edge of a breathtaking 700-meter-deep gorge, taking in the prehistoric panorama. Continue through the fascinating Fermhin Forest, abundant with Dragon’s Blood trees. Learn about their legendary resin as local children seek shade beneath their unique canopies. Descend into Wadi Dirhur, a striking canyon concealing a freshwater oasis and natural waterslide. Enjoy dinner under the stars and camp overnight on the Diksam Plateau.
Day 3 Dolphins and Secluded Sands
Wake to the serenity of Detwah Lagoon before heading to Qalansiya Port, a lively fishing hub. Embark on a boat trip along the western cliffs towards the untouched Shoab Beach. Keep watch for playful spinner dolphins in the waters. Spend the day relaxing on Shoab’s secluded sands, savoring a fresh seafood meal prepared by local fishermen. On the return, seize the rare opportunity to swim alongside wild dolphins. Conclude the day with a peaceful sunset stroll along the endless sandbank. Final night camping at Detwah Lagoon.
Day 4 Firhmin Forest
Enjoy an early breakfast before your transfer to Socotra Airport for departure. Please note that the itinerary might be adjusted due to seasonal weather. Your journey supports local communities and eco-tourism, allowing you to experience truly unique landscapes.
